Accessibility

Pistil Whip is a licensed California cannabis brand operated by Meli LBC, Inc. We want every adult visitor to be able to browse our site, learn about our products, and find a licensed retailer, regardless of ability or the assistive technology they use. Accessibility is part of how we build this site, not an afterthought.

1. The standard we work to

We design, build, and test pistilwhip.com against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.2 AA is the most widely referenced accessibility benchmark for websites in the United States.

2. What we have done

• We commissioned a full accessibility audit of every public page of this site, covering automated testing (axe-core, run in both first-visit and returning-visitor states), manual keyboard navigation review, color contrast measurement, motion and animation review, and the WCAG 2.2 specific criteria that automated tools cannot evaluate.
• Every finding from that audit was remediated, and the live site was then re-scanned in full. The site currently produces zero automated WCAG 2.0, 2.1, and 2.2 Level A and AA violations across all pages in both browsing states.
• Accessibility is built into our design system. Every color combination used for text on this site has been measured against the AA contrast minimums, so new pages inherit accessible contrast by default.
• The site supports full keyboard navigation, including a skip-to-content link on every page, visible focus indicators, and a 21+ age gate that keyboard and screen reader users can operate the same way as everyone else.
• We honor the “reduce motion” setting on your device. Animations, auto-advancing content, and scroll effects are disabled or stopped for visitors who have that preference set.
• Touch targets meet or exceed minimum size requirements, and forms use proper labels, error identification, and status announcements for assistive technology.

3. Known limitations

We believe in telling you where the edges are:

• The interactive map. Our store locator includes a map rendered by Mapbox, a third-party mapping service. The map canvas itself has inherent accessibility limitations common to all interactive maps. Every store shown on the map is also presented in the adjacent retailer list, which is fully accessible by keyboard and screen reader and includes the same addresses, distances, and directions links.
• Third-party destinations. Links to outside services, such as Google Maps directions and retailer menu pages, lead to sites we do not control. We cannot guarantee the accessibility of third-party websites.

4. Ongoing efforts

Accessibility is not a one-time project. We re-test the site when new pages or interactive features ship, we review this statement at least annually, and we treat accessibility feedback from visitors with the same priority as a functional bug.
